François Jaros entered The Box Films with a priprity deal.
He is a Montreal-based director known for his sharp visual style and exceptional work with actors. He started in the industry over a decade ago as a video assist operator on Zack Snyder’s 300, before directing a series of award-winning short films including Montreal Daytona (2012), Life’s a Bitch (2014), Maurice (2015), and Oh What a Wonderful Feeling (2016).
In the commercial world, François has directed over 300 campaigns for leading brands such as Air Canada, Toyota, and Viagra. He brings the same cinematic attention to casting and performance into every project, crafting spots that feel both precise and alive. “What I love about commercials,” he says, “is treating each one as a blank page — new tone, new rhythm, new way of working with actors.”
His 2024 campaigns were recognized at the Clios, Marketing Awards, and Lürzer’s Archive. His 2025 McDonald’s Wallet Dance spot, produced by The Box Films, was featured on Shots and celebrated for its originality and craft.
